Wiranto: True Supporters of Prabowo Will Not Stage Rally in MK

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Politics, Legal, and Security Affairs, Wiranto, questioned from where the masses came, staging rally around Constitutional Court (MK) building, on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, June 18. He believed true supporters of Prabowo Subianto - Sandiaga Uno would not hit the street.

“If they don’t obey, that means they’re from other groups. Or we can later ask Pak Prabowo who they are,” said the Coordinating Minister when met in the ministry office, Tuesday, June 18.

Previously, presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto warned his supporters not to hold an action in MK during the presidential election dispute trials. Gerindra Party chair and running mate Sandiaga Uno had decided to take constitutional way and so demanded supporters believed in the legal and constitutional measure.

Demonstration acts continuously run around Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat. Hundreds of people packed the street. The police had earlier blocked the street for vehicle access.

One of the demonstrator groups calling for the rally is 212 Alumni Brotherhood who claimed of being ordered by Rizieq Shihab.

Wiranto deemed the rally run peacefully and safely. However, he hoped the public obey Prabowo’s call to refrain themselves from initiating street protests in MK. “The ongoing trial should not be disturbed by a mass movement,” he underlined.
